Working Process of Activated Carbon Adsorption Steam Recovery System

20 Jun , 2024

The activated carbon adsorption, desorption, condensation and recovery combination utilizes the adsorption and desorption capabilities of activated carbon at different temperatures to perform adsorption and desorption operations on organic matter. The equipment is mainly composed of an activated carbon adsorption and desorption tank, a pneumatic valve, a fan, a chimney, a dry filter, a drying fan, a condenser, an oil-water separator, etc. The steam desorption system can meet the requirements by using the manufacturer’s steam or a small steam generator. The desorption efficiency can reach 80%-90%. The desorbed gas enters the condensation system and is separated and reused through the oil-water separator, which is energy-saving and environmentally friendly, achieving the effect of resource recycling.

Working Process:

Pretreatment adsorption: The exhaust gas is pressurized by the fan and enters the activated carbon adsorber. The organic components are adsorbed when penetrating the activated carbon layer, and the adsorbed and purified gas is discharged from the top.

Desorption regeneration: The desorption recovery process uses water vapor to regenerate the activated carbon. The desorption steam enters from the top, heats the activated carbon bed, and desorbs organic matter. The humidity and temperature of the desorbed activated carbon are very high, and air needs to be blown into the adsorber to cool and dehumidify the activated carbon adsorption bed.

Condensation recovery: The mixed vapor produced by desorption is recovered as a liquid mixture through a condenser. The organic matter in the mixed liquid can be recovered through gravity stratification, distillation, rectification, etc.
